Born August 23, 1980, Abel Meri is an Ethiopian-American rapper, songwriter and entrepreneur recognized for his skillful lyricism and socially conscious music. Offering listeners a vast catalog of inspirational bars packed with clever punchlines, rhythmic flows and refreshing insight, Abel delivers a steady dose of thought provoking messages through his music.

 

Raised in Los Angeles the DMV, Abel is as adept wordsmith  reminiscent of rap legends he grew up listening to. Abel credits Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie and Tupac for being most influential in molding his artistic style.

Abel employs an unorthodox recording style of not ever writing down lyrics. His tracks are recorded organically in spontaneous streams of consciousness, when and wherever inspiration strikes. And atypical of most rappers, Abel does not use any profanity in his music.
